Sanity Walk to Old Faithful - MyShadowProductions # 99

Hey everyone.

No, not a Sanity Walk to the real Old Faithful, just my old faithful, Denver Botanic Gardens :)

Nature has a way of just being there for a breath of peace and has some dependable sights as well as endless new views if I just choose to keep my eyes/mind open :)

There are a couple of ponds at the Gardens and a little girl was pointing out something in the water to her friend and she said “I hope that’s not a crocodile”, she definitely had her eyes open :)

I also enjoy/need the free “life advice” that the garden signs offer:

Way too early but I had to check out my favorite “grape patch” with hopes of a “bunch of fun” in late August :)

Also, there are fresh signs that the “fox family” is still enjoying their condo under the rocks in the Dryland Mesa area of the Gardens:

Here are a couple of videos created from my photos, one with Google Photos “Movie” tool and the second with the iPhotos “Play Memory Video” from an iPhotos Album:

At the end of each is a quick shot in Cheesman Park and some cool flowers on a bush along the sidewalk on Pennsylvania St a block from my apartment.

Here are a few photos from just 8 days ago on May 22, things do change, sometimes quickly and sometimes slowly :)

Hello to the month of June !!

Palmetto Bluff, Hilton Head and Tybee Islands - MyShadowProductions # 98

Howdy y’all !!

I want to say many thanks to Nancy, my very good Lowcountry friend that gave me rides, ideas, conversation, great weather and support during this short but very enjoyable visit to The Lowcountry. Here is a map showing spots visited:

First in this blog will be Palmetto Bluff, a 20,000 acre residential and recreational preserve near Bluffton, SC that I do not have words to describe it, other than amazingly beautiful and peaceful.

Click Here to read the Palmetto Bluff Adventure Guide. Also, just Google Palmetto Bluff if you want to view the real estate and lodging options :)$$$

It would take several days/weeks and plenty of $$$$ to fully absorb and experience all that Palmetto Bluff has to offer. Nevertheless, I do have a movie/video created from my photos, CLICK HERE for a quick trip thru a little bit of Palmetto Bluff. Couple of celebs that got married at the Palmetto Bluff Church are Trevor Lawrence and Justin Bieber, separate weddings :)

Next place visited was Hilton Head Island. I did a poor job taking photos at the beach but did get some photos of sunset over Skull Creek at Dockside Restaurant.

Wednesday morning was a trip to Tybee Island for some additional walking on the beach and a little refreshment at the Tybee Pier Pavilion.

South Carolina is the Palmetto State and the Palmetto Palm is on their state flag. I bought a small souvenir from a guy making flowers from the Palmetto palms, here is a photo:

Here are some random photos I took Thursday morning before leaving for the airport in the afternoon:

Savannah, Georgia - MyShadowProductions # 97

Hey, y’all !!

As I mentioned in my last post, I am visiting a small portion of The Low Country in Georgia and South Carolina. It is also known as The Lowcountry and the low country.

This post is about Savannah, Georgia. I flew United, direct from Denver to Savannah airport, about a 4 hour flight.

Savannah is the oldest city in Georgia and is one of the first “Planned Cities” in the USA. The Savannah River is very prominent in the north part of town with a very active riverfront with a great walkway, restaurants, shops, old-repurposed buildings, riverboats, ice cream and much, much more. The River also has some very important influences on US history.

The historic section of Downtown Savannah is great for walking, (and great Trolley Bus Tours) with architecture, charm and the many “Squares” (over 20 of them) laid out about every 3 blocks or so. Each “Square” tends to have its own theme and interests. Click here for a great summary of all the Squares and see map below:

The Forest Gump scene with him on a bench was in Chippewa Square.

I created a movie/video from my photos and due to its size and length I uploaded it to Vimeo so I could attach it in this blog post.

To view the movie/video Click Here (I am hearing that this link is not working on phones?? Please try on an iPad or laptop?? Please let me know what you find working or not working!) ( It should work now, I reset to “Public” in settings :) I apologize for the 7 minute length, but I just didn’t know which photos to skip :)

I will have a few more blogs soon about Hilton Head Island, SC, Palmetto Bluff, SC and Tybee Island, GA. Here are a few photos to get a little hint:

Denver Botanic Gardens - MyShadowProductions # 96

Happy May everyone !!

Guess what, Cinco de Mayo is going to be on May 5th again this year, truly amazing.

Well, sanity walks are still a required part of my “sanity”, so with that in mind I “sanity walked” to the Denver Botanic Gardens to see how Spring was progressing.

My experience is that Spring starts slow in Denver but sometimes that accents certain colors that do flourish this time of year. What ??

Here is a movie/video created from my photos today: Look for the plants marked with yellow flags - I helped transplant them (and they are still living) :)

Could you smell the lilacs? Did you see the beautiful red Peonies? Both of those are very appropriate memories of Mom with Mother’s Day approaching :)

There is also a new art exhibition at the Freyer-Newman Center:

Lobby between exhibit rooms, not her art.

Don’t ask me, Art is Art :)

Here are a few examples of other art I saw while walking back to my apartment:

I plan on visiting The Low Country and the low country for a few days next week.
From what I read, there is a difference, hence the capital letters on one :) Time will tell.

     Have a great Mother’s Day weekend !!
