MyShadowProductions #66 - Honduras/Loma de Luz Day 7 & 8

Buenas Noches (Good evening) or Buenas Tardes (Good afternoon) or Buenos Dias (Good morning) depending of course on when you have decided to look at the blog.

Also, Happy Birthday Julie!!

Today is Tuesday and blue skies with el sol (the sun) arrived mid morning and the skies were still mostly clear as the sunset and darkness arrived.

I heard there was over 10” of rain over the last 3 days. Yep, they have rain gauge discussions here too :) I knew the Caribbean looked a little higher :) The ground seems to absorb the rain very well when it comes slow and steady. In contrast, it can be torrential and a lot of flash flooding and erosion.

Continued working on wood shelving for the storage container, mostly with Mario (61 yr old Honduran and another volunteer).

Took advantage of the sun and made the 15 minute walk to the beach around 4:15 pm and stayed for the 5:18 pm sunset.

Here is the movie/video created from my photos (including another try at the timer on the phone camera - 10 seconds):

The shower here has a Lanzarotti instant hot water shower head, also known as “suicide heater” or “widow maker”. Mine doesn’t work (was told to check the breaker, did that and breaker is ok) guess I will work on it the next time I take a shower (just kidding). Actually, I am getting used to the cold shower. I bet it really feels cold when the temperature here is in the 90’s. Here is a photo of said shower head:

Today is your lucky day, a MyShadow photo AND a LuckyDog (look real close) photo:

Have a Great Day :)
