MyShadowProductions #7 - More of Cherry Creek Trail

MyShadowProductions #7 - More of Cherry Creek Trail is a continuance of movie/video #2 walking farther upstream along the Cherry Creek Trail to 14th Street and Speer Boulevard in Denver.

I am including two versions, the first created with Google Photos and the second created by iPhotos.

There are a few bonus photos of Cheesman Park and Denver in general in the Google Photos movie/video and MyShadow “gets his wings” before the “sanity walk” in both.

I was surprised by the low flow in the creek but it is still an interesting Trail.

Have a good day and hopefully we are one day closer to positive changes, everything and everywhere!

MyShadowProductions #6a, b, c and d - Thailand - Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Singburi

This is #6 in the series and I am able to share because during the “Stay at Home” phase of COVID -19 I took the time to finally transfer some photos from my old laptop to a newer device where I could share easily.

There will be no “MyShadow” in these movie/videos but there are guest appearances by “The Lucky Dog(s)“.

Please keep in mind that some of these videos are from 11 years ago and society’s views in most countries regarding the care and treatment of wild animals has been evolving with the intent towards more humane and healthier ways.

#6a is a movie/video of Pattaya, Thailand in April 2009. Pattaya is about 2 hours by bus, southeast of Bangkok on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand. The green circles on the above map give some idea of the locations, Singburi is the middle circle without words :)

The “Lucky Dog” is on Bang Saray Beach a little south of Pattaya.

The photo quality is not great because I scanned them from laptop to iPhotos but hopefully it is possible to get a small idea of Pattaya City including a local vineyard near Buddha Mountain and Little Siam, a Park with miniature replicas of famous structures around the world.

#6b is another movie/video in Pattaya, Thailand in April 2009. Again, photo quality is not great.

No shadow or lucky dogs, but some tigers, crocodiles, monkeys, etc.

The first location is Nong Nooch Gardens and Resort and the second is The Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm.

#6c is a movie/video of Chiang Mai, Thailand in September 2009. Again, photo quality is not great.

The “Lucky Dogs” are resting at the temple, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, atop the mountain Doi Suthep.

Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second largest city and the old wall surrounding the oldest part is still intact. It is located in the mountains of Northern Thailand and is 12 hours by bus or sleeper train and 1.5 hours by air, north from Bangkok.

Some of the places shown in the movie/video are Chiang Mai Gate, Umbrella factory, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Elephant village (the paintings were done by the elephants and were available for purchase at 1200 Thai Baht, approximately $30 US.), elephant trek and ox cart ride through the countryside, a bamboo raft trip on a local river and an orchid farm!

I also remember visiting a Jade Factory (figurines sculpted from local jade) and the famous Chiang Mai Night Market! Unfortunately I haven’t found any of those photos yet!

#6d is a movie/video of Volunteer teaching thru Peetim Homestay in Singburi and Lopburi Provinces in Thailand during 2016 and 2017. Again photo quality is not great.

Singburi is in Central Thailand about 2 hours north by bus from Bangkok along the Asian Highway.

One note, I was in Thailand when their longtime and much loved King passed away. I cannot put into words how much all Thai people loved that man! Thai people (and us farangs, Thai term for foreigner, were encouraged to so as well) wore some sort of black clothing for one year after his passing.

One photo in the movie/video (I copied from the internet, but I was physically present at the vigil) is looking down on the candlelight vigil in Singburi, remembering the King’s passing in October 2016.

“The Lucky Dogs” are three of Peetim’s puppies playing in the new rice field just off the balcony of my room.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to experience it all!!

Virtual Tours of Denver Botanic Gardens

Unfortunately the Denver Botanic Gardens has been closed since early March due to COVID -19 fears. To me this is puzzling and in my opinion the Gardens would be an ideal place for people to easily practice social distancing and enjoy all the Gardens offer! But, not my decision.

Photos from Horticulturist at the
Mordecai Children’s Garden,
the area of the Gardens where
I am grateful to volunteer!

The link below has 8 Virtual Tours of the Gardens that share a small sampling of the nature that is occurring!

In addition, their website “blog” has additional information and videos:

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mothers out there!

This video has nothing to do with Mother’s Day but it brings a tear to my eyes when I watch it, wishing I could have shared it with Mom, I think she would have enjoyed it, Dad too.

Peetim Homestay in Singburi, Thailand, 2017, volunteer teaching English and experiencing Thai culture!

After watching the video a few times I have noticed that I have the same shirt on most of the time.  :)
I didn’t have a large wardrobe and I thought it was more respectful to wear a collared shirt, especially because I was wearing shorts.

Peetim’s Homestay did laundry as often as I needed, so all of these photos were not on the same day!

MyShadowProductions #5 - Statues in Denver

The series continues (when will it end?) with movie/videos from “sanity” walks within a 2 mile radius of my apartment. This one is with “Statues” around Denver.

Found out it is hard to photograph some statues because they are mostly one color and shadows hide a lot of detail but adds to the story I guess??

MyShadowProductions #4 - Mexico Beaches

MyShadowProductions #4 - Mexico Beaches the first week of January 2020.
I took a photo of my shadow on Mismaloya Beach because I thought it would be an alternative to a selfie. (Included in this movie/video).
When I was starting these “sanity” walk movie/videos I accidentally took a photo of my shadow in City Park and when I reviewed photos later the idea came to me about having a “shadow” in each of the movie/videos and hence the name MyShadowProductions.
Here is the original #4 with a shuffled order, followed by a revised #4 that includes the  name of the beaches and appropriate photos following.
The beaches were in Manzanillo, Santiago, Mismaloya, Sayulita and Puerto Vallarta.

This post includes movie/videos MyShadowProductions #3a,b and c, “Street Art” in Denver, all within about a 2 mile radius of my apartment in North Capitol Hill. I have tried to avoid graffiti and anything that might be offensive, so I apologize if I have misinterpreted or overlooked something!

Sign I saw in Denver!

I saw this sign at a Restaurant in Denver sometime last week!

It reminded me of my “Country Western Song Title”

“I AIN’T BEEN RIGHT FOR A LONG TIME,
NOW I’M LEFT ON MY OWN!”

Please let me know your secret Country Western Song theme!
