MERRY CHRISTMAS 2024 and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025 - MyShadowProductions #189

Greetings everyone and Happy Holidays !!

It is “that time of year” again with our personal thoughts, beliefs and feelings intertwined with our families, friends, acquaintances and society in general. Piece of cake, right??

For me, I try to keep Gratitude in the forefront and it may sound crazy but I am Grateful that I have many, many “life gifts” to be Grateful For !!

I have been patiently waiting for some snow to wander around in and get some cool photos for a Christmas video card but it doesn’t look like Mother Nature is going to cooperate, so…….

As I have mentioned in previous Posts, Garfield Park Conservatory is one place I am very grateful for. My Christmas Video Card this year includes my photos from the GPC Winter Flower Show: SNOWFLAKES (full disclosure, my only contribution to the display was encouragement and some minor preparations in the greenhouse, the horticulturists/artists did the magic :)

Please do yourself a favor and look at the Website of Alexey Kljatov!! the Photographer/Artist featured in the Winter Flower Show’s Snowflakes.

Snowflakes, just one amazing example of Mother Nature’s endless array of “life” !!

Remember making snowflakes by folding paper, cutting with scissors and then unfolding the final “design”? This LINK gives instructions for six-pointed-paper-snowflakes :)

Since I brought it up, I had to try one, I blame it on an early case of “cabin fever”: (I apologize for the poor lighting, my “cabin” is dimly lit :)

Two Wednesdays ago at GPC, Dec 11, one of the staff pointed out a visitor that had found a perch high above the fish pond in the Aroid House:

Hopefully the raccoon will enjoy his new home after the eviction process :)

Here are a few photos I took in Aurora during a Foggy Sunday morning walk along the Fox River:

I used the “vivid” filter to correct the “lighting” in the photos to match more to what I actually saw.

In case you are wondering, this is what the Artist’s Garden looks like while waiting for Spring 2025 :)

See You Next Year !!!

P.S.: It SNOWED !!! But that story will have to wait :)
