Day Trip to Breckenridge - MyShadowProductions # 102

Hi everybody! Happy mid July!

Well, on Monday I decided to get out of “town” to avoid the heat, not the police or FBI kind of heat but Mother Nature kind of heat :)

Denver was forecasted 74 to 100 degrees and Breckenridge was forecasted 55 to 77 degrees:

I have to admit that the “heat” doesn’t bother me that much because the humidity is low compared to what Illinois offered, but it makes the story more interesting?? :)

The ride on Bustang is very comfortable but there is a major increase in ridership.

It was interesting to visit Breckenridge outside of ski season. There were a lot of people (you know how much I love “people”) especially on the “historic Main Street”.

The free gondola ride from Breckenridge Station to the base of Peak 8 is interesting. On the way back down, I got off at the Shock Hill stop and was lucky to find the Breckenridge Overlook and also found and “hiked” some of the Snowshoe Trails in the area. These trails were a welcome surprise with Aspens, Evergreens, Rock Outcrops, Views and some pretty cool wildflowers.

After an enjoyable hike I found the gondola stop again (finally) and rode the gondola back to Breckenridge Station and walked to explore the Town of Breckenridge National Historic District.

I just couldn’t get myself to venture a little farther down the road to a local “Tourist Trap?” - The Breckenridge Troll. Click here if you want to visit it virtually :)

The Bustang bus takes you from Denver Union Station to the Frisco Transfer Station and then a free Summit Shuttle takes you to Breckenridge Station. Some of the first photos in the movie/video are from the area around the Frisco Transfer Center.

I also took this photo of a verse on the side of a nearby restaurant:

I shared it previously when I Skied at Copper (I corrected spelling :) Mountain and Walked in Frisco, Click Here to visit Post 28 again.

Note to self: I forgot to get a MyShadow photo :(

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day:

I hope Summer is being kind to everyone, enjoy!!
