I was reading an article in Denverite (online newsletter for Denver area) and saw Niwot, CO mentioned.
I said “Why Not?”, after all, it is between Boulder and Longmont on Highway 119 and it is easily accessed by the Flatiron Flyer (FF1), Denver to Boulder, and then the RTD BOLT bus from Boulder to the Niwot Park ‘n Ride. (Boulder names some of their bus routes: Bolt, Jump, Skip, Hop, Stampede, Dash, Climb).
According to the sign below, Niwot is one way to say Left Hand in Arapaho.
My mind immediately interchanges the sound and letters of Niwot to Why Not, how about you?
The left hand thing took a little while to register, like after a while I figured out that the Hand Chairs throughout town were all Left Hands :)
Also, I ate pizza for a late lunch at “Lefty’s Gourmet Pizza & Ice Cream”. I didn’t get a photo of the establishment but gourmet is definitely a stretch! The pizza was good though, which doesn’t happen very often for me in this part of the country. Did you catch the “ Lefty’s”?? (No, I didn’t eat the whole pizza, took some home for later :)
